Charter Section 7: Life, Liberty, and Security of the Person

The Charter `section that I choose was Section 7. This section states that `Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of the person and right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice`.

The reason I chose this section is because I wanted to see what type of cases would be heard using this section for appeals and the impact to society.  The two cases I found are: R. v. Morgentaler and R. v. Stinchcombe. Both cases have been instrumental and had lasting effects on our juridical system.
